Toyota 4Runner lost power and needed extraction

Sunday, January, 29th at 10:52 a.m. (MST) an offroad recovery request was received in our system from Arizona. The ticket was submitted by Alex Silva.

The description of the ticket read:1992 Toyota 4Runner DARK GREEN, lost power, turns on, but lost power, 27 miles from Lake Pleasant rod into the trail on the back way to crown king. Needs help getting down to main road so I can put it on a trailer. / I’m not with the vehicle

We verified the location, contact information and submitted the ticket to our volunteers in the area. Once the ticket was submitted the conversation started in our lobby and a few hours later Gregg Achtenhagen, a local volunteer with a vast experience, announced he was going with some friends to attempt the recovery the following day.

Gregg, submitted the following notes after the recovery and some photos too: “Micah and I met Alex and his friend at 0800 out by lake pleasant.Took about 3.5 hours to get to the vehicle.Back Way to Crown King is always difficult but weather made it more challenging.

We were able to push the vehicle down hill and turned it around. We initially had to use Micah’s truck to tow the 4 runner over some of the larger obstacle and river crossings.

As we headed out Ora Belle to Wagoner road the 4 runner started operating again and was able to drive out most of the way on its own power. Aired Up at Peoples Valley and headed back to respective homes around 2:30.

Thank you guys for an awesome job!
